Love this, but especially when the 3D models are in the ‘real world’ environments. The space shots on the site don’t really carry the effect as well. Click the images for a larger view.

“Look at the shiny shiny cube….”

The smart people at the University of British Columbia have created a “personal cubic head-coupled 3D display that shows reactive 3D scenes”.

Basically it’s a box that adjusts to movements, and lets you interact with objects inside a virtual 3D world.

pCubee is made with five flat-panel screens that uses perspective-corrected rendering and real-time physics simulation to create compelling visualization and interaction techniques for 3D content.

Very clever. Very cool.

Real or CG. Gran Turismo 5 is blurring the lines even more.

Took a couple of viewings for my eyes to tell the difference on one of the shots.

Technically impressive. Can’t wait to see what the game play is like.

Angus Kneale of The Mill NYC, the cast and crew give us an insight into the creation of the advert, which was filmed in New York and involved state of the art technology notably the Spydercam.
