Beat Fleet is his bachelor work for the university of arts in Zürich.. It’s a music game using timecoded vinyl (by MsPinky) as the interface. Two turntables as input devices control the action on the z- and x-axis.

Jamie Bell (aka DispleasedEskimo) made this for his AS Art Course.

“This is the final piece for my AS art course, a flipbook made entirely out of biro pens. It’s something like 2100 pages long, and about 50 jotter books. I’d say I worked on and off it for roughly 3 weeks.”

I’m so old and out of touch that I don’t know how old ‘doing an AS’ makes him – but he got full marks.

The Brief: “Produce a TV ad to promote the Panasonic G10 Viera with FreeSat Home Hub TV, leveraging the Everything Matters brand positioning.”

The Entries:

1 – Paul Bryan // Concept: An upgrade of television life over the past forty years.

2 – Steffan Harrison // Concept: Little things make the big picture happen

3 – Romaine Reid // Concept: Show off the features and benefits of each product within Panasonics HD home hub series.

4 – David-Childs-Clarke // Concept: Electronic devices coming to life via their on lights

This film was made by Dutch student (yeah another one) Tim Smit on a unbelievable budget of $150.

He shot the footage in his local village then used After Effects and 3D Studio Max to create the look.

Apparently the Hollywood studios are sniffing around already.

‘What’s In The Box’ also has an official site with a puzzle you need to crack to get in.

They’ve also created a website for the mysterious Babel Industries. which showcases some of the technology seen in the film, such as the Involentary Stomach Discharger (ISD).

Because the story (so far) seems to connect with gamers who love Half-Life there’s a lot of buzz being generated.

I’m expecting to hear a lot more about this.

I spotted the video on Harry Northover’s site. This fella could be a star of the future based on the work he’s doing. And he’s only just sitting his GCSEs. Scary.
